Défi des Cubes Énergie: We are at the end of our second week. Students are excited and they are participating well. Do not forget to enter any 15 minutes activity in their logbook. All logbooks booklets need to be signed on Sundays if you want your child's cubes to be counted on the following Monday morning. If you are looking for activities or videos to do with them at home, please follow this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDjSCV75QvU&list=PLbJ45pIUs4JybvhwJMlS-ZjYEK4M5F5_r. It will provide you with a playlist of 21 videos from Force 4 that you can watch and perform with your child. Remember our objective: Let’s try to make our students move 60 minutes a day! So far, on the regional level, we are first, and on the provincial level, we are 24th. Go Go Go Saint Vincent!

From April 29th to May 27th, Saint Vincent students will be participating in the Pierre Lavoie Cubes Énergie Challenge. As you know, we are a On Bouge au Cube school this year. To encourage our students to move 60 minutes a day, we decided to take part into the Cubes Énergie Challenge. Students are encouraged to move at home with their families for a minimum of 15 minutes a day. Fifteen minutes of a physical activity such as walking or biking, equates to one energy cube that should be recorded in your child’s logbook.  For every member of the family that exercises with their child for 15 minutes, an energy cube can be filled out also.  Students will get their logbook today in class. We strongly recommend that they keep their logbook in their school bag. Every week we will be counting their Cubes Énergie and we will tally them on the official website. This is a province wide competition where many English and French schools participate with lots of past success and positive impact on families.  The Grand prize is an overnight at the Olympic Stadium followed by a day at La Ronde. Mr. Robert and Ms. Sonia will be coordinating the challenge along with homeroom teachers. Students will be encouraged to participate at school as well. We are asking parents to participate at home too. Physical activity is important not only for children, but for adults too.  Studies have proven that with daily movement activities there is an increase in an individual’s concentration and mood, a decrease of anxiety and stress at home, school and the workplace.  It is essential that physical activity become part of our routine at home. Let`s use this challenge opportunity to make physical activity a priority for our children. For more information, please visit www.cubesenergie.com. There is a section for parents with examples of activity you can do. Should you have any questions, please contact us.

La Grande Récréation

posted Apr 23, 2019, 6:37 AM by Nadia Anwar

We are still planning to go to the Grande Récréation activity tomorrow even if the weather calls for rain. We have spoken to the people in charge and they are waiting for us rain or shine. Please make sure your child has the right attire. More information is given in the document attached. In the event that the rain is really too much, then students will just remain in their respective center. Do not forget to give them a disposable lunch for tomorrow as there is no service from Piccola Gioia tomorrow. We have made sure that Piccola Gioia was aware we were on an outing.

Final Exam Schedule

posted Apr 15, 2019, 12:41 PM by Nadia Anwar   [ updated Apr 15, 2019, 12:46 PM ]

Please find attached to this post the final exam schedule and a memo for the grade 6 students.

All final exams are extremely important in determining your child’s academic success. Students' presence is mandatory for all exams and until the end of the year. Grade 6 exams are mandated by the government (MEES). They cannot be missed or retaken. Only the following reasons will be accepted as valid to miss a MEES exam: Serious illness or accident confirmed by a medical report or certificate, death of a close relative or court summons. Failure to report to a MEES exam without a valid reason can render a result of zero on the exam. Please note that some exams are scheduled over many classes, therefore this schedule tells you when the exams start and end for a given grade level. It does not mean that there is an evaluation every day. The evaluations follow the regular schedule of the students.  If you have any questions, please contact the school. This schedule only contains the final examinations recommended by the school board and the MEES. Please note that students are still working on projects and material for term 3. There might be other exams assigned by teachers which will count for term 3 that are not on this list. Teachers will inform the students of the date. As a reminder, term 3 counts for 60% of the total year mark.

UPDATE 9:25 PM:

Although some schools and centres still have no power, we are pleased to report that power and fiber-optic has been restored in the majority of our buildings across the territory. We continue to monitor the situation very closely. Hydro-Québec teams are working tirelessly and we are expecting more power restorations during the course of the night. We understand any inconvenience this may cause, but the situation changes drastically from hour to hour. We will post an update tomorrow morning, once we have a full portrait of the situation. We will communicate the information on the :

• SWLSB website (www.swlauriersb.qc.ca).

• School Board's main phone line (450 621-5600 or 1 866 621-5600).

• SWLSB Facebook page.

• Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board mobile app.

• Greater Montreal media (radio stations and Salut Bonjour).

Thank you for your understanding.
